September 29th, 2011

It’s no secret classrooms are changing faster than you ever could have imagined, but what are some of the things you’ll find in today’s classroom that weren’t there only ten years ago? We’ve put together a list of the techie items that teachers and students are using today.

Smartboards: There’s something to be said for a technology that allows teachers to point, click and even scroll, all without the hassle of overhead projectors or films. Smartboards are expensive but they’re changing the way kids learn and taking over modern classrooms everywhere.

Internet: Most classrooms nowadays come equipped with wireless internet as well as at least one teacher laptop – imagine how hard it was to come up with a worksheet before the web. Now that it’s in every classroom there’s no question out of reach at the touch of a button.

Cell Phones: Cell phones have made a resurgence in kids’ backpacks, and from texting scandals to interruptions they’ve yet to find a happy niche in the classroom. It’s yet to be seen how students, teachers and phones can learn to co-exist.
